92 pages bound in worn contemporary blue cloth. Gilt title on front board 'THE SPANISH ARMADA 1588' some letters missing. Inscribed and signed by T.C.Noble on the inside of the free endpaper.

Special limited edition printed by the authors for the subscribing members of The London Teachers' Association. c 1935. 1174 pages. frontis map (see illustration). 2 pages of adverts. Quarter red leather with red cloth boards, slightly scuffed, 30.4.43 written neatly on title page, foxing on endpapers otherwise in very good condition.

Cream gilt decorated cloth. Top edge gilt. Very neat inscription on endpaper, dated 1916. Beautifully produced copy in lovely condition.

The author describes how the various woods, antler and horn can be found, and how they can be combined to give the best results. An informative and attractively produced book.

The Horner’s Craft. An exhibition illustrating the ceremonial, decorative and domestic uses of horn from medieval to modern times. Exhibition atWorthing Museum and Art Gallery May 5th to September 29th, 1973. 24 pages.  8 pages of black and white plates. 21x15cms. Very good condition pamphlet in card covers. Inserted two relevant letters and addenda and corrigenda. Scarce item.

Together with 2  lists of The Master, Wardens, Court of Assistants, Past Masters and Livery of the Worshipful Company of Horners.
One for September 1964 and the other for 1975 both in good condition with card covers.

ANDREW W. TUER, F.S.A.: History of the Horn-Book. 

Two volumes bound in one together with a matching folder with 7 examples of horn books made in wood, card, metal and paper.  S. Emmering, Amsterdam 1971. Unchanged reprint of the original edition London, 1896. Volumes 1 and 2. 179/278 pages, many illustrations, showing children using horn books and examples of the many produced. Coloured illustrations on title pages. Matching purpose made folder with 7 beautifully made reproductions of horn books made in wood, card, metal and paper. The book and folder in fine condition bound in yellow cloth. Size 25x17cms.
